Update:
Are you an Owner-Operator?
We are frequently being asked about a “while you wait” service on this particular instrument cluster – We are more than happy to do this, and can arrange this 7 days a week, and even out-of-hours to accommodate. This will help to avoid you having to take the vehicle off the road for a period of time. Please call to book in advance, the repair will ordinarily take 3-4 hours.
Using components designed for cars, these dashboards are generally past their design life by the time they are a few years old.
By far and away the most common problem is an intermittent air gauge 2 – the warning buzzer will come on at random and the needle will drop. Often driving over a bump will cause the problem to come and go.
This will cause some of the following fault codes to be stored:
PID:118 FMI:4 Secondary brake pressure short low
PID:117 FMI:4 Primary Brake pressure short low
SID:250 FMI:12 J1708 datalink defective
PSID 205, 204, 208, 207 FMI 12 Data link errors
PSID 200 FMI 9 Engine ECU data link abnormal update rate
Other common issues include:
- Dim/No backlighting
- Green indicator tell-tales not functioning
- LCD failure, usually just the lower half.
- No audible warning
- Sticking needles
- Inaccurate needles
- Non-Functioning gauges
- DataLink Error
- Air leaking from air gauge on earlier models
- Water Damage
We can thoroughly test and repair your dashboard for a fraction of the price of a new unit.
