Description
Known as Mercedes MR-PLD, Mercedes PLD, MR units, OM904 ECU and OM906 ECU, these ECUs are fairly problematic. Fitted to all kinds of vehicles, from a 1998 Mercedes Vario, through the range of Mercedes trucks, and from an Optare Solo to a Neoplan Skyliner up to a 2013 Optare Versa.
Usual faults we see include:
- Fault Code 4024 – Auxiliary controller defective
- Fault Code 4038 – Starter Control
- Fault Code 4039 – Starter Control
- MIL Illuminated for no reason
- Misfire on one bank of cylinders, Fault code indicating short to ground for said bank
- Cutting out when warm
- None start
- Starter motor fault
- CAN Communication faults
- Broken sockets
- Corrosion
- Immobiliser Issues
We offer a full test and repair service on the Mercedes MR-PLD engine ECU, and can usually offer a CLONED exchange unit if yours is not repairable. For Non-Immobilised vehicles such as Optare Solo we can supply upfront.
